Phnom Penh, September 27, 2025 — The Ministry of National Defence has reported that Thai military forces fired mortar rounds and small arms at a Cambodian military base in the An Seh area late Saturday morning.
According to a statement from Her Excellency Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and ministry spokeswoman, the incident occurred at approximately 11:52 a.m. on September 27. Cambodian armed forces are closely monitoring the situation and remain on high alert to safeguard national territorial integrity.
The ministry stressed that Cambodia continues to uphold its commitment to the ceasefire agreement between the two countries, while calling on Thailand to fully respect and implement the truce.
“Cambodia reaffirms its dedication to peace and stability through cooperation at all levels,” the statement said, urging a swift return to normalcy in bilateral relations.
The Defence Ministry emphasized that Cambodian forces are prepared to respond if necessary, but remain focused on maintaining calm and seeking peaceful solutions.
